Tween Book Club: The Jumbies
Are you a 4th-6th grader who loves to read? Join us for a book club with like-minded readers, where we'll discuss books and do cool activities. This month, we're discussing The Jumbies, a fantasy adventure set in the Carribean.
Corinne La Mer isn't afraid of anything. Not scorpions, not the boys who tease her, and certainly not jumbies. They're just tricksters parents make up to frighten their children. Then one night Corinne chases an agouti all the way into the forbidden forest. Those shining yellow eyes that followed her to the edge of the trees, they couldn't belong to a jumbie. Or could they?
Register online to attend. Registration opens one week after February's book club meeting. First priority will be given to kids from the waitlist for February's meeting if spaces open. Speak with a librarian to pick up a free copy of The Jumbies to keep (supplies are limited).
