Remember to delete everything this line and below:
Description Sub titles (if any) should be "Heading 3".
Body copy should be "Normal".
Write a short description, no more than 280 characters, that is appealing and includes a few key benefits that patrons can expect to gain from the event/class/workshop. Keep content simple and easy to understand. Write for a patron audience, not a librarian audience.
Omit information regarding when and where the event takes place, as this information will appear in a highlighted box within the event description.
✔ Best Practices:
-
Use headings, bullet points, and lists to break-up content.
-
When adding hyperlinks, always try to hyperlink a word rather than just typing out the URL, unless the URL supports your branding. For example, for including a link to Summer of Library Love: Fine Forgiveness, you would do this: Summer of Library Love: Fine Forgiveness, not this: https://www.aclibrary.org/blog/summer-library-love-fine-forgiveness-june-1-july-31-2018 However, for directing people to the online Summer Reading Game (SRG), its fine to spell out the hyperlink like this summer.aclibrary.org because it supports the branding of our annual SRG.
✘ Don’t:
-
Use different color fonts. Instead, use black or the default color and use bold or italics for emphasis.
-
Highlight text within your event description.
-
Use ALL CAPS in your content.
-
Paste images or the event flyer within the body of the event description.
