Archimedes Makerspace Grand Opening
By 2020, complex problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity are projected to be the top in-demand job skills, according to the World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report. While there is a growing need for these skills, they are not traditionally taught in the classroom. AC Library saw an opportunity to create a space for middle and high school students to learn these skills while collaborating on community-defined projects with businesses, non-profits, and local government.
We invite you to the grand opening of our new innovation space, Archimedes, on Friday, August 16, 2019 from 3-5 pm at the Fremont Main Library. Archimedes is located on the library's second floor. During the grand opening, students will present their work and solutions to some community-defined projects. There will also be a tour and demonstration of equipment in Archimedes, including an Oculus Rift, 3D printer, and vinyl cutter.
