Salad Gardening for Beginners with LEAF
Have you ever wanted to grow your own food? Are you unsure where to start? Join us for a hands-on look at what it takes to start a garden. Volunteers from Local Ecology and Agriculture of Fremont (LEAF) will show techniques for small-space and patio gardening, as well as troubleshooting techniques for struggling plants. The focus for this workshop will be "salad plants" (including lettuce, peppers, cucumbers, etc), but the tips and techniques can be used for many types of gardens.
This event will take place mainly outside and there will be minimal shade. Please wear a hat and/or sunscreen and bring a bottle of water. This program is for ages 12 and up.
