Food & Fun - Coding Class

All summer, Tuesday is Coding class.  For grades 4-8 only.  Registration is required. 

Students need to commit to coming to all 6 classes.  

The classes are taught by high school volunteers from the organization Programming for All.  

 

Week 1 (Scratch): Introduction, basic computing concepts, binary, unicode, Scratch programming

Week 2 (C): Introduction to C, basic printing, data types, etc.

Week 3 (C): C loops, conditions, etc.

Week 4 (C): math in C, integer overflow, etc.

Week 5 (Python): Introduction to Python, differences in syntax between Python and C, printing/loops/conditions/etc.

Week 6 (Review): Review of everything covered, quiz, discussion of problems in CS (gender/income inequality)
