Gap Years for Young Adults

Gap Years for Young Adults

Ever considered a gap year or semester abroad experience? Taking a year off between high school and secondary education is on the rise among ambitious, curious, and motivated students, and for good reason. Recent data has shown that students who participate in a gap experience graduate with higher GPAs than their peers and later indicate that they're more satisfied with their chosen careers.

Ninety-eight percent of college and universities accept deferrals for planned gap years, noting that they find this cohort of students to enter college more focused, mature, and passionate. In this presentation, Lila Rosenman from Where There Be Dragons will focus on the why, how, and who of gap years.
