Brown Bag Speakers Forum: All the World's a Stage: An Overview of Berkeley Repertory Theatre

Brown Bag Speakers Forum: All the World's a Stage: An Overview of Berkeley Repertory Theatre

Docents Matty Bloom and Joy Lancaster will discuss the history of Berkeley Repertory Theatre and its contribution to the Bay Area and beyond, the 2019-2020 Season, and the Docent Program.

Matty Bloom, Co-chair for Content for Berkeley Repertory Theatre’s Docent Program, is in her ninth season as a volunteer Docent with the Program.  Her love of theater led her to get a Masters in Drama from San Francisco State University in 2011. As Co-chair for Content, she is the liaison to the Theatre’s Literary Department and involved in content development for Docent presentations. Matty is delighted to be a part of the Berkeley Rep community’s ongoing dialogue about the plays, and she encourages theater-lovers to come participate with this vibrant community.

Joy Lancaster is in her eleventh season as a volunteer Docent at Berkeley Repertory Theatre and one of the three Co-Chairs who coordinate the Docent Program. As Co-Chair, she focuses on recruitment and training.  A retired educator, she trained as a Teacher of Drama at The Central School of Speech and Drama in London. Over the course of her career, she taught a variety of subjects, never losing her love of theater.  As a Docent, she is delighted to be able to be involved with local theater and to share her enthusiasm with Berkeley Rep's community of theater-goers.
