Movie Screening and Q&A with the Director: Visions of Warriors

Movie Screening and Q&A with the Director: Visions of Warriors

Join us for a screening of the film Visions of Warriors, followed by a Q&A with the director, Ming Lai.

The groundbreaking Veteran Photo Recovery Project at the VA Menlo Park is featured in this documentary, Visions of Warriors, exploring the use of innovative photography therapy to treat the mental illness of four veterans, ranging from the Vietnam era to the Iraq War. Because the veterans use photography therapy to treat their mental illness, the cinematography is inspired by the iconic photo essays in Life Magazine and National Geographic that intimately capture people's lives. The director, Ming Lai, will conduct a Q&A session after the screening. The content of this film may be upsetting to some viewers.

Co-sponsored by the California Center for the Book: Community Conversations with Veterans, a program of the California Library Association, supported in whole or in part by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian.
