LEAF Garden Science: Dissecting Weeds and Flowers
Join us for another fun garden science workshop for kids! The Centerville Library is teaming up with LEAF (Local Ecology and Agriculture Fremont) to create a gardening space for young kids, teens, and adults to participate in growing a sustainable garden and learning about the science of gardening.
Have you ever looked closely at a flower? Or wondered what all the different parts are for? During this activity, kids will be given flowers and weeds to pull apart and explore. We’ll discover how the plants get nutrients to grow and why flowers look the way they do. Kids will also draw pictures and diagrams showing the inner workings of their plant. We’ll add some pictures and flowers to the display case for viewing so we can share our knowledge with other library visitors.
For kids ages 5+. Space is limited, tickets will be handed out 15 minutes before the program starts.
