Raising Bi-Cultural Children in a Challenging Environment

Ms. Joan Zhang, Licensed Marriage & Family Counselor, will be the presenter. Ms. Zhang has years of experience working with children and adolescents and their families. In addition, she is bilingual in Mandarin and bicultural in Chinese. She is very passionate about helping families navigate the cultural and generational differences, and supporting parents to raise socially and emotionally healthy kids.
 
The workshop will help attendees to:
  • Understand strengths and challenges of multiculturalism. 
  • Comprehend characteristics of adolescents’ development. 
  • Cultivate child’s self-confidence and emotional regulation. 
  • Reinforce behavioral norms effectively. 
  • Learn effective communication between family members. 
  • Learn problem solving, stress reduction and coping skills.
